Well, today has been a good day. We celebrated at home together then went to see Joe's family. It was a very relaxing day and we had fun seeing everyone. My wish is that you all had a wonderful day with loved ones while celebrating the birth of our Savior!
(The print is called the Knaffl Madonna. This was taken by Joseph Knaffl. The woman is the wife of my great-grandmother's cousin.)

this is priceless and beauitful picture of Mother and child. do you have this picture as your own?
Lady St.Anne
No, I do not, but I would love to.
We have this picture (a very good quality photo) in our family and were told that it was our great grandmother (Madonna)and grandfather (the baby). There was never any copyright text on it and we didn't know it was printed by Knaffl Bros. Now we are not sure if these really are our relatives because of the apparent date of the photograph (1890?). Did you have the name of your great grandmother's cousin? We thought the people in the photograph were Mary (Holden)Denton and her son Frank Denton.
I am putting a post on my blog to give more information on this image.
I was just looking up a similar picture copywrited by Knaffl Bros in 1910. It is called "Madonna of the Hills." It is extraordinarily beautiful, and what I have is a small, (3x3 1/4) black and white holy card, perhaps, in the format of a picture of the framed picture. I was looking it up to see if I could learn more and possibly find a larger print. Any info?
i found this picture in an old house my husband owned in akron 10 years ago. i wrote to the akron beacon journal to try and find the family but turns it was the madonna picture. i now enjoy it on my living room wall.
I have the same picture, It was my great grandmother's. Painted at the bottom Madonna and child copyright 1899 by Knaffl Bros. Excellent condition.
